Need a Fun Cheap Date Idea?

Finding affordable things to do with your significant other really isn’t that difficult. After all, it’s time together that counts the most! Pick a great outdoor market, buy some great snacks, people watch, and if you’re really bold, visit a thrift store or costume shop and try on cool outfits!

Read what Amber from Seattle has to say about her cheap date with her boyfriend at Pikes Place Market:

My boyfriend and I decided it was finally time for some good, cheap quality time. These days, one cheeseburger can cost up to $5.00! I live in Seattle, Washington where the sun is never shining. Finding things to do outside is actually a task. Pikes Place Market was our first stop. First, we walked from the front to the back of the market. We ended up taking all our pocket change ($3 in change each), and went out to find the best gift we could. I ended up getting a whole bag of little honey sticks, which are my favorites. After the visiting the market, we went down to the Pier and sat down on the benches. From this vantage point, we people watched. People watching is actually pretty good entertainment! Once we found interesting looking people, we followed them! It turns into a childish game before you know it, but who doesn’t like to be young every once in awhile? You find yourself making up stories about where they could be going, where they’re from, etc. Sooner or later we found ourselves in the Capital Hill area. That has to be the best place to do the cheapest shopping. Almost every clothing store on the Broadway Street strip is some sort of thrift shop. Our favorite place to go is Red Light! Over half of their downstairs is costumes. Literally, every single costume you’d ever want to find. We went down to the costumes and tried on our favorite ones. Even though you know you’re not going to buy anything, it sure is a crack up to see your boyfriend in a silly outfit. In the end we walked around downtown until we found a place to snack. We found the Piroshki Restaurant on Madison Street. It was really inexpensive and delicious. It’s in a great part of town, too.
