Zoo Dates
Today’s creative date idea is a little difficult to plan, but if you pull it off, it’ll be a really memorable day for you and your significant other. Visiting the zoo makes for a fun date, but it’s even more entertaining if you visit a private zoo!
Check out what Bethany from Oregon has to say about her private zoo date.
The most creative date I have ever been on was, believe it or not, visiting a zoo. Normally that wouldn’t seem that creative and I sure didn’t think much of it when I found out where we were going. After all, a zoo isn’t that romantic. But I soon found out that this wasn’t just any zoo. This seemed to be a somewhat private zoo sitting on top of a mountain. Residential houses surrounded it so that some lucky home-owners could look out their kitchen windows and see what the animals were up to. When we arrived there, it was about 2pm on a Sunday. The sky was overcast and it was a little chilly, but we had coffee in tow. At the ticket counter, they even had little cups of fruit that you could purchase to feed some of the animals! The cashier handed us a map and I realized that this zoo was maybe only a little more than half the size of a football field. Once in the gates, I looked around. We were the ONLY people there. My guy led me across the way and told me that we were going to look at the tigers. Fair enough. But I was in no way prepared for what was in store. Once we were at the Tiger exhibit, a white and an orange tiger saw us and excitedly pranced up to the bars to greet us by rubbing the sides of their faces on their cage. It was adorable. Had I chosen to not abide by the implied rules of the railing we were standing behind, I could have leaned over and touched one of the tigers on the nose, they were so close. We watched them play and pounce on each other like house cats for several minutes before moving on to see even bigger tigers. On our way up there, we passed several parrots that would shout out things like, “Hello!” and “Hi!”. One bird even put his wing over his head to hide, then pulled it back down and said, “Peek-a-boo”! After that we passed some lemurs who, once one began squawking, the entire cage of lemurs began shrieking! Once we made it up a little hill to another fenced off area, I realized the biggest, most gorgeous tiger was once again, coming right up to the bars to take a look at us. He was massive and stared directly into my eyes. I had never been so close to such a beautiful animal. That date went down in date history forever. I will never forget it as long as I live.
